TF 3-69 AR was the Advanced Guard for the 3ID and fought the biggest tank battle of the Invasion. You should talk to some of those West Pointers. COL TK Kelly the Deputy Commandant was a company commander in 3-69.
I’ve gotten a decent amount of feedback like this, notably from other people I know who were also there. So I think we’re gonna come back to this in a few weeks. I’d have had another friend on the show at the same time and made it a double-interview if I’d realized he was also in 3ID at the time. It was dumb, too, because I knew he’d commanded a company in 3ID. If I’d thought about it, I’d have realized WHEN he was there.
What can you do? I don’t actually have all of my friends’ biographies memorized, and literal war stories don’t come up all that often when we’re just sitting around drinking beer.
Anyway, my goal was to have guys who already had a connection to AFF come on and talk about their experiences. We unintentionally left one off, and I feel bad about it. So yeah, I would very much like to come back and revisit this a little later. Will be greatly aided in this if Army wins on Saturday, so that people WANT to revisit this uniform discussion.
