In case you missed it, Army Women’s Basketball beat Bucknell this past Thursday night, 49-39, to advance to the Patriot League Championship.
The Black Knights played a gritty, defensive style that all but dominated the game physically, picking up offensive rebounds and maintaining possession for extended periods even when they weren’t sinking shots. Indeed, Army won in fine style despite a late fourth quarter rally from the Bison that saw the Black Knights’ lead shrink to just 4 points.

The Women will face the Lehigh Mountain Hawks tomorrow at their place. That promises to be a tough contest given that the Mountain Hawks have beaten the Black Knights twice already this season, winning 90-51 and then 76-61 later in the season. But we’ll see what Head Coach Missy Traversi and her crew can get going. They’d split contests with Bucknell earlier in the year but looked clearly superior this past Thursday night.
Friends, this will be a monster game. Army is seeking just its fourth Patriot League title ever in basketball and its first since 2016.
Tipoff goes at noon on CBS Sports.
