Contain WR DT Sheffield
North Texas has a lot of good receivers, but WR DT Sheffield is the best of them. He’s the guy who’ll make the big plays and break this game open. To win this week, Army’s secondary will need to limit Sheffield’s explosiveness, force UNT to drive the full length of the field, and maybe even contest some catches down near the goal line.
Force North Texas to Score in the Red Zone
This Key follows from the last one. North Texas can win this game on explosive plays made by superior athletes. Army can win it by playing bend-but-don’t-break defense, contesting tough yards in the red zone, and forcing either field goals or turnovers down near the goal line.
At the end of the day, no one will care how many yards North Texas puts up. Only the actual points matter.
Score Touchdowns
Friends, North Texas is going to score this week. Army will need to match their production and get touchdowns. The Black Knights have been very good about finishing drives this season. If they can continue that this week, then they have every chance to win this game.

Win the Turnover Battle
As noted, we expect a total shootout. UNT has been in shootouts all season, and the last time these two teams met, we got a crazy shootout down in Denton. With that in mind, a small number of critical mistakes might just decide this game.
Army needs to play its brand of ball-control offense, take care of the football, and take advantage of whatever mistakes North Texas makes.
The Mean Green have a talented team but not a perfect one by any means. Opportunities will present themselves. The Black Knights must capitalize.

We expect to see a LOT of Army fans in the stadium on Saturday. You guys have got to be loud. The Black Knights will need every advantage in this game, and there’s not much that’s more demoralizing than being booed in one’s own stadium.
