It’s been a tough couple of weeks, but Rob has me convinced that the Brave Old Army Team can turn this thing around. Achievement starts with belief, so let’s go!
Here are this week’s Keys to Victory.
Establish the Midline
For better or worse, Army’s offense runs through its fullback. OC Brent Davis’s scheme works when he can get his base play, the Fullback Dive, going. From there, he can spring all the wonderful variations.
If Army can get their fullbacks going, they have an excellent chance of winning the rest of this game’s critical match-ups.

Get the Ball to the Slotbacks in Space
The flipside of the previous point. Army can’t afford to get too dogmatic. If something’s not working, they need to adjust and get their playmakers involved. This is where we’ve struggled the last few weeks. This week, Army must find a way to adapt and overcome.
The other service academies have been able to make this work. Army needs to find a way to get there, too.

Contain QB Dan Ellington
Georgia State runs an option offense. It’s different than Army’s, but it still revolves around QB Dan Ellington distributing the football and making plays.
If Army can limit Ellington, they can limit his offense.

Unleash Kelvin Hopkins
Army’s best weapon is their senior quarterback. If this team is gonna turn it around, QB Kelvin Hopkins must lead the way.
